G 109B
Long experience in fiber-glass technology and modern aerodynamics made it possible to develop a motorglider which offers the qualities of a cruising aircraft: the Grob G 109B.
Its excellent aerodynamics and the fuel efficient engine, Grob 2500, which was especially developed for this aircraft, reduce the fuel consumption considerably. The combination of excellent engine performance and sporty soaring makes the G 109B the best choice for club operation.
The cockpit offers a clear and functional arrangement and was designed according to ergonomic requirements. Much space is available on the perfectly designed instrument selection up to full CVFR equipment level. Further technical features are: the toe brakes, the steerable, damped tail wheel and the intelligent folding mechanism of the wings
The mentioned advantages, the proven technology and the outstanding flight performance and flight characteristics made the G 109B the choice of the Royal Air Force. A total of 53 motorgliders are used for the flight training of the "Air Cadets".
By the way: the G 109B was the first composite motorglider in the world which received FAA certification.
