04/24/08 - spn to show at AeroExpo Prague
Grob Aerospace will display its spn business jet on the static display at the new AeroExpo business and general aviation show in Prague during 25 to 27 April. Its participation marks the spn‘s debut in Eastern Europe. Grob Aerospace is supporting it with an exhibition stand (A19) at the Pribram airfield venue, just 60 km from the centre of Prague
“We are delighted to showcase the spn at this all new general aviation show in Prague - strategically located in the heart of Europe,” said Grob Aerospace CEO Niall Olver. “This is very much an emerging market for business aviation and the Czech Republic and Eastern Europe is an interesting market for us. We look forward to making some useful contacts there.”
This is the first time that the Show organizers have moved outside the UK for an Aero Expo venue. “We choose Prague because of its location – 70% of all European GA takes place within a 500 mile radius of the capital,” said Show Director Paddy Casey. He added that the show is being well received with exhibitors to date close to 100.
About the spn
The all-composite spn boasts an impressive range and payload for an aircraft in its class. With six passengers and one pilot, the aircraft can fly non-stop 1,800 nm (3,334 km / 2,071 mi). The aircraft features a total cabin volume of 405 cu.ft (11.5 mł) – by far the largest among light business jet, as well as a large passenger door.
Early sales success for the industry’s new generation light business jet has raised market interest with its unique operating characteristics. For example, requiring a balanced field length of just 3,000 ft (914 m) at maximum take off weight, it can operate out of fields traditionally the domain of a turboprop; even out of unimproved runways.
The spn will also be certified for single pilot operation, and is equipped with an avionics suite more advanced than that of any other aircraft in its class. Honeywell’s integrated all glass cockpit sets new standards for simplicity, reliability and technology. Two rear-mounted FADEC controlled Williams FJ44-3A engines deliver 2,800 lbs (1,270 kg) of thrust.
